Golem Ecosystem Fund: One Year In - Highlights, Allocations, and What’s Next
GEF has supported Golem, Ethereum, and Web3 for over a year! We've learned and are evolving the Fund. New goals, tracks, and focus areas are coming soon. Get ready!
Since the Golem Ecosystem Fund (GEF) was launched over one year ago, it has supported projects across multiple layers of decentralization - from the Golem Network itself to the broader Ethereum and Web3 ecosystems.
Throughout this journey, our team has been continuously learning how to better structure the Ecosystem Fund so that it delivers lasting value - to builders, researchers, and users alike. As GEF evolves, we’ll soon share more about its new goals, dedicated tracks, and focus areas.
Here’s a look back at some of the achievements of the Golem Ecosystem Fund projects to date 👇
🌍 Projects Supported by the Golem Ecosystem Fund
Web3 Pi
🔗 Website | GEF Profile | Discord
Web3 Pi makes running a full Ethereum node on Raspberry Pi easy, secure, and efficient - empowering anyone to help decentralize Ethereum.
Progress:
✅ 12 of 15 milestones completed, including:
- Automated setup, dashboards, and monitoring
- MetaMask proxy & TxFirewall groundwork
- RISC-V support for Lighthouse
- 200+ Ethereum validators running on a single RPi5 for 230+ days
- A custom OS image, documentation portal, and Cockpit integration
Web3 Pi demonstrates that Ethereum can be lightweight, accessible, and secure - even on small, energy-efficient devices.
Satori Network
🔗 Website | GEF Profile | Discord
Satori is building a decentralized zero-knowledge (ZK) proving platform with a pilot integration directly with the Golem Network to scale distributed proving.
✅ Delivered milestones:
- Gateway: Golem node orchestration
- Worker: Distributed live ZK proving
- User Defined Programs: WASM circuits
- Dashboard: Real-time visibility
- Mainnet Integration: Full stack running on Golem Network
Next: a pilot campaign using hundreds of CPUs for real ZK workloads - showing that scalable proving doesn’t need centralized or GPU-only infra.
Keccak Optimization (Research Track)
A research collaboration exploring cheaper, scalable proving of Keccak-256 within ZK systems - a key step toward more efficient Ethereum zk-rollups.
✅ Milestones include:
- Whitepaper: GKR-for-Keccak approach under vlayer & Golem
- Blog post & explainer video which will be released in about 2 weeks
- Golem × vlayer hackathons
Team is going to present their findings at Verifiable Summit 2026.
Goal: enable faster zk-proofs, cheaper rollups, and progress toward stateless Ethereum.
Clan
🔗 Website | GEF Profile | Discord
Clan is a peer-to-peer machine management framework simplifying how apps and services are deployed, discovered, and managed - from cloud to edge - without central servers or complex DevOps tooling.Built on NixOS, Clan makes infrastructure reproducible, cooperative, and accessible to all.
Progress:
✅ 4 milestones delivered.
- M1: Clan Manager proof-of-concept with multi-overlay support.
- M2: SDK for community modules and standardized specs.
- M3: Stable Clan Manager SDK, Distributed Binary Cache, Automatic Backup & Restore
- M4: Manage a fleet of MacOS machines, the first ever open source deployment tool to have support for MacOS
Upcoming milestones will include a stable API and SDK, macOS fleet management, a Python API, and a full graphical interface. Clan also uses Golem DB and Golem Network for its own infrastructure - a great example of ecosystem synergy.
L3 Block Explorer
🔗 GEF Profile | Discord | GitHub
Developed by Neti, the L3 Block Explorer provides visibility into Golem DB Layer 3 DB-Chains, making structured on-chain data transparent and developer-friendly.
Progress:
✅ 3 of 5 milestones completed.
Live on Kaolin testnet, it offers:
- Entity tracking, transaction views, and wallet integration
- Bridging and analytics features
- GolemDB L3 Block Explorer
Next steps include multi-chain support and advanced analytics tools
Vanity Market
🔗 Website | GEF Profile | GitHub | Discord
Vanity Market is a decentralized vanity address generator using Golem’s distributed CPU/GPU power to create custom Ethereum addresses (e.g., 0xDEADBEEF…).
✅ Delivered:
- Open-source CLI with CUDA acceleration
- Provider reputation model
- Support for complex patterns (prefix + postfix)
By distributing compute across Golem, Vanity Market makes on-chain identity more personal, efficient, and verifiable.
