GLM Rewards Program September Update - Double Slots Edition
Here go, with the September update on the GLM Rewards Program! Golem has one of the longest-running community rewards programs in the crypto ecosystem where we try our best to show our appreciation to individuals and make getting involved in the Golem community potentially that one step more rewarding. For this edition, we look to do something different than usual.
On the development side of Golem, there’s just been the 3rd major release in the form of the Beta 3. This introduces the experimental VPN functionality, custom counters and more. With the help of the Application Creation and Maintenance category, we hope that individuals in the community can be inspired to try out building new types of applications!
What’s this Double Slots Edition?
For this GLM Rewards Program we will be splitting the rewards between double the amount of slots. The justification behind this is that the engagement in the community channels is the highest it's ever been, enough to fill the entire 10 slots (including 2 application creation slots). And the price of GLM makes it so that it would balance out to still be quite significant rewards—relative to when the GLM Rewards Program first launched in July last year—even though they're split. Feel free to give us some feedback on what your thoughts are on this event.
Please reach out to us as soon as possible if you’re on the awardee list so we can begin to organize the rewards. Find Mattias in the community Discord (https://chat.golem.network) and he will be happy to help you directly.
GLM Rewards Program Spotlight(s!) - Golem Auto Editor and Golem Completion Engine
In the spirit of this double slot GLM Rewards Program edition, we’re also going to do a double application spotlight.
Golem Auto Editor is a PoC of the CLI video editing tool auto-editor for automatically editing video and audio by analyzing a variety of methods. Using various flags, you can make video edits such as changing pace of the video, doing automatic cuts and exporting to different platforms. Jedbrooke mentioned in the sharing of the project that there were some potential long-term plans that were being considered so we’re curious to see what might be coming up!
Golem Completion Engine is an enhanced bash completion engine that extends built-in completions by providing contextual help for golemsp and yagna. In other words, it offers realtime help tips for both Requestors and Providers. This application isn’t krunch3r’s first rodeo, he also came up with entropythief on Golem, covered in the August GLM Rewards Program. Similar to with the entropythief README, the Golem Completion Engine repo also contains a demo video to display some of the functionality.

Wrapping Up
That’s everything that we have for September’s GLM Rewards Program. If you’re interested in learning more about this month’s highlight then don’t hesitate to join the community Discord and share your thoughts. Or if the Application Creation and Maintenance category sparks your interest and you’re a developer then we’d love to see you create and share your own application that utilizes the Golem Network.
It’s easy to get started with the GLM Rewards Program by being active where the Golem community is discussing and interacting. The Golem team is often active in the Discord, /r/GolemProject and /r/GolemTrader on Reddit, Telegram and the announcements channel. Or create some cool Golem integration on Github and share it with us via email, for ideas check out Awesome Golem.
Since the GLM Rewards Program requires KYC then of course you can opt-out if it’s not for you, we just want to token(ize) our appreciation in the form of GLM tokens.
